MOSAIC Gardeners, It’s About That TIME!‏

Happy Hump Day!

Gettin’ ready,

XL Insurance, a corporation committed to helping others, came to the gardens and kicked butt (in an eco-friendly kind of way)! J A total of 8 volunteers visited our first garden in order to spread wood chips on the walking paths, edge out and till every garden plot and move piles of wood from the front of the gardens to the back.  They also weeding the perimeter beds at the garden quite nicely.  The garden couldn’t look any better!  Then, the XL Superheroes moved on to our second garden where we moved dirt like never before in order to create 15 garden beds!  The XL team rocked! We could not have moved so much dirt without their help! (Pictures of the day’s events are attached)

Thanks again XL Insurance and our garden member, Laura Wagner, for providing a helping hand!

The Hill SchoolMOSAIC cannot thank you enough for your continued support of our community gardens!  The amount of volunteer efforts provided to MOSAIC has been priceless…we hope you all have a great summer and we look forward to working with you in your final volunteer days at the gardens this season! (Pictures of the events are attached)

And another big thanks to more Superstar volunteers this week, Deb Penrod, Liz Hansen and Melissa!  We acknowledge and appreciate your active participation in helping to prep everyone’s garden for the growing season!

A second set of Troop 01104 girls were back at the gardens this Saturday to work on their very own plot.  They got a chance to learn more about planting, growing and composting at the gardens.  Thanks to our gardener, Chris Hoffman, for helping spread the word about the community gardens!

A holistic health workshop was facilitated by MOSAIC at the Heart of God Ministries on Sunday!  They are excited about the gardens and will be joining us this growing season!  Join me in welcoming the Heart of God and their entire congregation (insert hand claps here)!

The fun doesn’t stop therevolunteers and other workers will be at the second garden as there is still so much to be done prior to our first planting day, THIS SATURDAY, May 17 beginning at 12 noonWe have mulch being delivered shortly along with the perimeter bed plants.  These items need to be planted and spread swiftly!
