Mosaic Community Land Trust Homes Program

The Mosaic Community Land Trust Homes Program helps local residents become homeowners.

House on Queen Street

In 2017, Mosaic and Genesis Housing partnered in the Mosaic Home Buyer Program (now the Mosaic Community Land Trust Homes Program) and rehabbed a home on Queen Street.

Mosaic helped to make the house more affordable for a homeowner by subsidizing the closing costs in exchange for the home remaining a primary residence for no less than 5 years and the homeowner becoming a fully participating member of Mosaic.

How it Works

If the home is sold before the term is up, the homeowner must repay a pro-rated amount of the closing cost subsidy. The assistance is provided as a zero interest loan with no monthly payments.

Within five (5) years, repayment would be required if the new owner:

  1. Sells the home
  2. Rents the home
  3. Vacates or abandons the home

Mosaic also provides beautiful landscaping at the property and will garden mentoring, if the homeowner should request it for the period of one year.
